Hardware Setup

Here, we will explain all the steps needed for a successful hardware setup: 

Unpack Your Router 

Your package contains the router, the power adapter, four antennas, and an Ethernet cable. 

Top Panel LEDs and Buttons 

The status LEDs and various buttons are situated on the router’s top panel. Some of them are:

  • Power LED

  • Ethernet LEDs for ports 1–4 
  • USB 3.0 port LED

Rear Panel

Label of Your Router 

The router’s label displays the login information, WiFi network name (SSID), password, serial number, and MAC address.

Attach the router antennas before installation. Note: If your router’s antennas do not have labels, they can be connected to any antenna port on the router. If the antennas have labels, match them to the labels on the router. Labeled antennas must be connected to the appropriate antenna port on the router.

Position Your Router

The following variables may reduce the range of your WiFi:

  • The thickness and quantity of barriers that the WiFi signal goes through might limit its range.
  • Other WiFi access points in and around your home may disrupt your router’s connection. WiFi access points include routers, repeaters, WiFi range extenders, and any other device that sends a WiFi signal for network access.

Cable Your Router 

  1. Turn on your router and connect to a modem.
  2. To connect your router, unplug your modem. If your modem has a backup battery, remove and reinsert it before plugging it back in.
  3. You can use the Ethernet cable to connect the modem to the router’s yellow Internet port. 
  4. Connect the power adapter to your router. Then, plug it into an outlet. 
  5. Press the power On/Off button on the router’s rear panel. When the router is ready, the Power LED lights remain solid white.

Note: If you don’t need a modem for your Internet connection, connect your primary Ethernet cable to the router’s yellow Internet port instead.
